Raymond Hayes - Director
An author on Property Law, Raymond was formerly a partner with a leading Hong Kong firm specialising in major commercial property transactions. He returned to the UK in 1995, becoming a partner with Bartons. He heads the Bartons’ property team from our Salcombe offices, from which he serves not only a local client base but also one in London and the South East for clients based in London, South Africa and China. His specialties include Landlord and Tenant matters, investment properties, second homes and high value residential plot sales for developers.

Nicola Edgcombe - Director
Nicola joined Bartons in 2002 following a law degree in Plymouth. Originally from Totnes, she now heads the residential property team at Bartons’ Totnes office, specialising in more unusual South Hams properties. Her personal approach and commitment to excellent customer service means 95% of her clients return to her for each subsequent property purchase or sale.

Hannah Lush
Having spent over eight years with two of Devon’s larger solicitors’ practices, Hannah has wide-ranging experience in all aspects of family law. She joined Bartons in 2007 to build her own family department, concentrating predominantly on children matters and financial issues ancillary to divorce and separation. She is a member of Resolution.

John Kirkhope - Consultant
John came to law relatively late in life, having worked many years in the financial services industry. He was formerly a legal manager for an international life assurance company. As a solicitor he builds on his many years of previous experience and continues to specialise in assisting clients on taxation matters, the use of trusts, more complex wills and probate. He also helps clients who are concerned about the potential impact of Nursing Home fees.
As well as a being a solicitor and Notary Public he is also a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner.
